Agricultural Science Foundation, a Non-profitable, Non-sectarian, Autonomous, Voluntary Organisation, was established by registering with Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 on 18-3-1981 vide Certificate No. 213/80-81 at Hulkoti village in Gadag taluka of Gadag district, under the able leadership of late Shri K. H. Patilji, the then Honourable Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka. The organisation is dedicated to the social, educational and economic development of rural people. It emphasises on realistic and scientific approach to the development of self reliance programme and community co-operative activities. The Foundation has set the following objectives :

To conduct research and extension in important disciplines of agriculture and allied fields relevant to rural areas.

To impart need based training to farmers, farmwomen in agriculture and allied activities.

To establish self employment units for rural youths through imparting vocational skill trainings in dairy, poultry, tailoring, embroidery and agro-industries and facilitating forward linkages with Corporations, Banks and other Financial Institutions.

To inculcate savings habit among rural people by organizing them in to Self Help Groups and help them to take up income generating activities by facilitating micro-credit linkages.
